Resheph was originally a deity tied to Mesopotamia, known as Rahshaf, Rasap, Rashap, Resep, Reshef, Reshpu, Rapha, Repheth, and others. Later, Resheph was tied to death, a deity who tested the faith of those who had passed. Resheph was not an angel of judgment, but rather one who helped determine their plight of passage. Resheph was never the sentencer or executioner, but always given a reputation for dealings with the deceased and therefore never revered in the same regard. Resheph was later adopted into Islamic religion, and their name translated to Nakir, alongside the angel Munkar.

GENERAL ABILITIES
VESSEL- the use of a human body as a host for an angel. The human must be a proper vessel, able to withstand the power of an angel. If an angel inhabits a true vessel (one that is best suited for that angel), the vessel will also take on the enhancements and abilities that the angel has.IMMORTAL - While the vessel is human, the angel itself is timeless, never aging and never ending. When in the proper vessel, the vessel itself will also become immortal as long as it is inhabited by the angel. If the angel abandons the vessel, they will become human again and resume aging from that moment.INVULNERABILITY - There are few weapons that can do any harm to an angel. While inhabited, the vessel also becomes invulnerable. If wounded, the angel is able to heal rapidly.STAMINA AND STRENGTH - Angels are not required to consume nourishment to sustain themselves. They have incredible strength and reflexes as they are the original warriors.PERCEPTION AND TELEKINETIC STRENGTH - Angels have a strong perception of their surroundings, able to identify other non-humans and read intentions of others. Some angels are capable of reading the minds of other angels or of humans, moving things with their minds, or using other powers with only the strength of their mind. Many of an angel's powers can be utilized without any need for conduits or tools (including touch), but merely by the strength of their minds.TOUCH - While some powers are based on the power of the mind, others do require the addition of touch combined with their intentions. With a touch, an angel can persuade a human. This strength varies between angels as to what their abilities may be limited to, but typically includes being able to lure them into a sleep or persuade them into honesty. With stronger intention and utilization of full potential, an angel may use touch to kill another being.ASTRAL PROJECTION - Angels are capable of casting themselves anywhere while their physical form (or vessel form) remains elsewhere. They may appear as a shadow, a being, or simply a voice.TRAVEL - While they are capable of flight, the most common and convenient way of travel is simple teleportation.WINGS - Angels have wings, appearing vastly different for each angel. Resheph's specifically are made of slick, black feathers, almost like oil in appearance. They have a total of six fairly thin wings, three on each side.
SPECIFIC TO RESHEPH
LIVING DEAD - one of Resheph's unique touch-abilities is to obstruct a human's soul. A fate worse than death, this leaves the human in a trance-like state without meaning, and their soul is given no rest.IN TUNE TO DEATH - because of their connection with those who are recently deceased, Resheph is able to sense death on others. They are also able to tune in on those who have already passed, regardless of where they are located.PLAGUE - specific to wartimes and what Resheph became known for at one point in history, they have the ability to cast a burning fever en masse. This does not necessarily cause death, and just the same, Resheph also has the power to fight off disease or plague.

ANGELIC VERSESMAIN - In general, Resheph will be written in present, modern times. While my interpretation is heavily affiliated to a friend's Dean Winchester, it does not mean that Resheph is reliant on this tie. Rather, this tie is what has tethered them to Earth. They have interfered in human relations and rebelled to a degree that they are no longer welcomed back in Heaven without just cause. Rather than inspiring Resheph to "win back the respect" of their brethren, their despondence with other angels has only stretched their relationship thinner with them and kept them grounded.They have found a fascination with human life and culture, as if to see it through new eyes for the first time in centuries. Things were different when they first meddled with humans, simpler. The modern era has brought about changes that keep them from wanting to return to the complexities of angelic duties that had become mundane without reprieve.Their vessel, Geoffrey, had been living a lonely life with little excitement. It hadn't been much of a question when asked to all but give up his life so that an angel could inhabit his body. In return, Resheph had honored Geoffrey's two requests: keeping the apartment and feeding the cat. Resheph could appreciate contingencies. And so had begun the excitement of their seemingly human life.OTHER VERSES
